What you can feel in Steam
Each of these can vibrate, shock, ramp up, pulse in waves or open a mystery box. Or do nothing at all; you turn on only what you want.

- Achievement unlocked
- Rare achievement, under 10 % of players by default
- Game launched
- Game closed
How it knows what happened
sideQuest asks Steam's official Web API which game you're playing and which achievements you just unlocked, every 15 seconds by default. It works for every game on Steam, without touching the games themselves.
Every action goes through sideQuest's safety limits first: hard caps for strength and length, shocks off until you arm them, and STOP on every page.
What you need
- Windows 10 or 11
- An XToys account with your toy connected
- A free Steam Web API key
- Game details on your Steam profile set to Public
Set up in three steps
After the one-time XToys setup, this is all Steam needs.
Get a free API key
Create one at steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey and paste it, together with your SteamID64, into sideQuest.
Make game details public
In your Steam privacy settings, set Game details to Public, otherwise Steam doesn't share your achievements.
Choose what you feel
Pick an action for achievements, and a stronger one for rare ones.
Steam questions
Why is there a short delay?
Steam only shares achievements through its Web API, which sideQuest asks every 15 seconds. You can make that shorter in the settings.
Is my API key safe?
It stays in sideQuest's settings on your PC. Guests in a shared session never see it.
Does it work with non-Steam games?
This part only covers Steam. League, Overwatch, Dead by Daylight, CS2 and Minecraft have their own, more detailed support.
